Italy was one of the first countries I visited in Europe, and I loved it entirely. I have gone back several times, and even though I have explored numerous other European nations, Italy still holds a special place in my heart.
The history and culture of Italy are mind-boggling. Italy was the birthplace of the Roman Empire, and its influence can still be seen in landmarks like the Colosseum and the ancient ruins of Pompeii. The Renaissance also thrived here, gifting the world masterpieces like Michelangelo’s David and Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
Whether you love snow-capped mountains (think South Tyrol), rolling hills (think Tuscany), sunny Mediterranean beaches (think Southern Italy), beautiful historic towns (think Rome, Florence, and Naples), or gorgeous pastas, pizzas, and gelato, Italy will not disappoint you.
