Best Photo Spots in Prague
Whether you’re visiting Prague for a couple of days or spending a month, here are the 9 best photo spots you must see to capture those perfect shots for the Gram.
National Museum

The National Museum is a masterpiece of neo-Renaissance architecture and one of the top Instagrammable places in Prague.
Inside, the majestic Pantheon and the grand staircase hall offer some of the most elegant photo ops in Prague. Golden light, polished stone, and ornate details create a sense of grandeur, evoking a film set atmosphere.
Local tour guide Prag Agenten tells me that the grand staircase was indeed used as the setting for several Hollywood movies, including Casino Royale and Mission Impossible. You cannot miss this iconic Prague photo spot now, can you?
Charles Bridge

No list of Prague photography spots is complete without mentioning Charles Bridge, the city’s most iconic structure. Spanning the Vltava River, the bridge is lined with magnificent Baroque statues. It offers dreamy views of the Old Town and Prague Castle in one frame.
However, this is one of the most crowded spots in Prague. So, arrive at sunrise for soft light and fewer tourists.
We are just amateur photographers, but we managed to secure a spot on the bridge and take these beautiful photos by the river.

Loreto Sanctuary

A hidden gem among Prague’s photo spots, the Loreto Sanctuary in Prague features a stunning Baroque Church of the Nativity, the iconic Loreto Treasure, and intricate details adorning each building in the complex, making it an ideal location for capturing unique, crowd-free photos.
Loreto also features a small courtyard filled with plants and shrubs, serving as a great photo op. The arched walkways with fresco-decorated ceilings also make great frames.
Old Town Square

The buzzing Old Town Square is surrounded by breathtaking architecture and vibrant energy. The center of the square is always a great place to take pictures in Prague.
While the buildings are stunning from any angle, the Prague Astronomical Clock, though always very crowded, is definitely one of the top-photographed places in Prague.
Wenceslas Square

While Wenceslas Square may not possess the medieval charm of other spots, its lively atmosphere and contemporary architecture make it an ideal setting for your Instagram shots.
Use the National Museum at the square’s upper end as a backdrop.
Prague Castle and Gardens

Prague Castle is not just a historical wonder but also a treasure trove of photographer-friendly corners. Its sprawling gardens, ornate facades, and jaw-dropping interiors provide endless photo ideas for Prague.
St. Vitus Cathedral (which we discuss in the next point) is one of my favorite photo spots inside the castle complex.
However, there are many more wonderful places, such as Golden Lane, with its charming homes, including the Kafka House, the castle gardens, and the path leading up to the castle, which boasts some of the best views in town.
St. Vitus Cathedral

The St. Vitus Cathedral, located within the castle grounds, is a must-visit location.
With its magnificent Gothic architecture, stunning stained glass windows, and a lovely rose window, St. Vitus definitely stands out as one of the most sought-after photo spots in Prague.

Old Town Hall Tower

To see Prague from above, head to the Old Town Hall Tower.
The 360-degree views from the top offer some of the best photos in Prague. From here, you can capture red rooftops, charming spires, and the hustle and bustle of Old Town Square.
✦ Pro Tip: Love stunning views? Cesky Krumlov is another beautiful Czech town with the most beautiful views.
Petrin Tower

Nicknamed the “Eiffel Tower of Prague,” Petrin Tower provides incredible panoramic views of the city. This is one of the best vantage points to photograph Prague’s famous rooftops and skyline from a distance, offering a unique perspective of the city.
